Why a live canvas

Photos capture the moments. A painting captures how it felt.

While you get married, I’m in the room with you, painting the light, the people and the little things you’ll forget by Monday. By the end of the night there’s a canvas no one else in the world has: your day, by hand, to hang where you’ll see it every morning.

And because I talk to you beforehand, there’s a little bit of your story hidden in it too: the book from your first date, your houseplants creeping in at the edge. It’s never a given, just something I love adding when it fits.

How a live painting works

Two calls and a short form

We talk through your day, your people and the details you'd love hidden in the painting. I'll explain what's realistic for your package and the time I'll have.

On the day

I follow the moment

I can follow you around the venue or set up in one spot. I look at the dress and suit to decide the focus, and I'll ask your permission before taking creative licence on a better composition.

After

Sealed, boxed, delivered

Acrylic dries quickly, so I can layer fast and seal the canvas with a gloss varnish. It usually reaches you within 12 to 16 weeks, boxed, with a handwritten note. In peak wedding season it can take a little longer, and I’ll always let you know where your canvas is.

Every canvas covers the two of you. Anyone else is £200 each, and travel within 50 miles of Birmingham (B37) is included.

Hanging kits and framing are available as extras. Any additional person you'd like painted in is £200.

Good to know

Before you enquire

Securing your date: a £200 deposit, with the balance due four weeks before your wedding.

Further afield: I travel across the UK. Beyond 50 miles I charge per mile, and over 2.5 hours away I’ll need an overnight stay.

Delivery: on the night for Eternal Love and Cherished Moments, otherwise usually within 12 to 16 weeks (a little longer in peak wedding season, May to September).
