I want everything to feel simple and fair, so here is exactly how deposits, cancellations, refunds and returns work. If anything is unclear, just message me at katiebowdendesign@gmail.com and I’ll happily talk it through.
Weddings and events (live painting and guest illustrations)
- A £200 deposit secures your date. The deposit is non-refundable, as I turn down other bookings once your date is held.
- The remaining balance is due 4 weeks before your wedding.
- If you need to cancel before the balance is due, you will only lose your deposit.
- If you need to cancel after the balance is due, please get in touch straight away. Your date will have been held for you, so I can’t promise a refund, but I will always look at your situation fairly.
- If your plans change and you need to move your date, let me know as early as you can and I’ll do my best to move your booking, depending on my availability.
Commissioned and personalised artwork
Canvases, studio paintings and post-event illustrations are made specially for you, so they can’t be returned or exchanged once I have started work. Under UK consumer law, personalised items are exempt from the usual 14 day cancellation right. If something isn’t right when it arrives, please contact me and I’ll make it right.
Canvases finished in my studio are usually delivered within 12 to 16 weeks of the wedding. In peak wedding season (May to September) it can take a little longer, and I’ll always let you know where your canvas is. Extra guest illustrations are posted within 4 weeks.
Prints and gifts from the shop
- You can change your mind and return a standard print or gift within 14 days of it arriving. Please contact me first, and send it back unused and in its original packaging. I’ll refund you once it reaches me.
- Personalised or made-to-order items can’t be returned unless they arrive faulty or damaged.
- If something arrives damaged or faulty, email me within 14 days with a photo of the item and the packaging. I’ll replace it or refund you, whichever you prefer.
How refunds are paid
Approved refunds go back to the original payment method. Please allow up to 10 working days for it to show in your account.
